Each week, our very own Shylyn Filk takes a “Doggie Day Out” with one of the shelter pups, giving them extra love, a fun day of adventure, and a chance to shine. Follow along all month as we share their stories, personalities, and how you can help give them a happy ending.

Doggie Day Out with Cookie
This week, Shylyn spent the day with Cookie, a friendly, outgoing, and affectionate girl who’s just the right size for any home. With her striking blue eyes and cheerful personality, Cookie instantly makes everyone she meets feel like a friend.
Their day began at Ramsey Park, where Cookie was ready to hit the trails and explore. She walked beautifully on the leash, keeping pace whether Shylyn sped up or slowed down. Her tail wagged almost nonstop, a clear sign of her excitement to be out in the fresh fall air.
Between watching squirrels, listening to the sounds of the river, and pausing for breaks to admire the waterfall, Cookie soaked up every moment of the adventure. She crossed bridges with confidence, leaned in for back and neck scratches during rest stops, and handled each new experience like a pro.
To end their outing, the pair stopped by McDonald’s for a well-earned pup cup, which Cookie enjoyed politely, tail wagging the whole time.
Cookie is a confident, affectionate, and well-mannered dog who deserves a loving forever family. She would make an excellent companion for anyone who enjoys being active or spending time outdoors.
